Supply Chain Specialist (Expiration 07/12/2018)

Job Description: 
My client has an operating mine in North Africa. They are currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist with international mining experience to join their team onsite
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Provide and support, leadership guidance and expertise to ensure all approved supply chain projects are successful from inception to completion, with the knowledge imparted to national staff ensuring a sustainable process
  • Essential functions  - Safety, Projects, Planning and Supply chain operational management  
  • Ensure that supply staff adhere to safety and environmental standards that meet Australian Industry Standards
  • Lead formal supply and logistics process improvement projects
  • Manage supply and logistics performance improvement projects from inception through
  • Responsible for identifying and analyzing business opportunities, developing recommendations using high level quantitative and qualitative analytical skill and communicating findings to senior management
  • Be accountable for supply project deliverables, develop and deliver recommendations to management, create and meet all project milestones and financial commitments
  • Develop project schedules, deliverable and detailed timelines, as well as identify and manage project priorities
  • Identify, document and implement best practices as part of the ongoing improvement process 
  • Ensure completion of appropriate project documentation and alignment with supply strategy
  • Exercise judgment and initiative to identify and resolve complex project and resource management issues.
  • Collaborate with IT and other functions to develop, define and document technical systems, operational requirements and critical success criteria for projects
  • Assist to develop, install and audit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company requirements  
  • Identify opportunities to improve ERP system processes (Develop or enhance supply chain metrics, KPIs and dashboards)
  • Work with and support existing local suppliers to development their performance and business opportunity.
  • Fully engage national supply chain staff in project development and implementation ensuring effective knowledge and skills transfer.
  • Facilitate and supply the logistics strategic planning process
  • Development planned parts coordination for PCR and Shutdown requirements  
  • Work with the supply manager to conduct regular review of the departments risk register
  • Utilize effective analytical and communication skills to resolve critical or escalated issues affecting end users
  • Continually identify opportunities and process improvements to improve working capital management and reductions. 

 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill:
  

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or Minimum 10 years in international supply chain roles
  • Minimum 5 years in supply management positions
  • Experience in a remote mining environment is essential
  • Experience in OEM parts management/interpretation desirable
  • Experience in ERP implementation Projects
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office – Advanced Skills) and Microsoft Navision Dynamic software
  • Hazard identification, Report writing skills, skills in planning, analysis and Problem solving
  • Contract management , P2P Process knowledge, Financial acumen
